Why CrushCamp was born

A LETTER TO:

Anyone who has ever been frustrated by a lack of results, or motivation. Anyone who has ever been told they aren't "athletic". Anyone who has ever felt lost in a big gym. Anyone who has ever felt left behind in a run group. Anyone who has ever felt ignored or intimidated in a boutique studio. Anyone who ever asked the question - "is this it?"

This one's for you.

There are a myriad of options in the fitness space. From big box gyms to intimate personal training studios to CrossFit boxes to outdoor boot camps to the boutique studios that have popped up in the past few years: boxing, barre, surf, yoga, spin, pilates, the list goes on. Options are great. Options are empowering. But what if none of them work for you?

That is the place I found myself in, and the very reason why CrushCamp was born.

I have never been one of those people who "enjoys" working out. I envy those who do! I have to trick myself into it - distract myself, dangle carrots, pretend like we are doing something that is fun so we forget it's work. And I'm not alone - that is how Zumba, surfset, rowing, spin, boxing, and barre all came to be. But the problem is, I also have a very short attention span. I get bored quickly. Spin, boxing, and rowing are just too repetitive and imbalanced for me. I love yoga for the down time and the disconnect, but I also love to eat and don't want to always layer on a cardio workout to get that calorie burn up. And I've tried boot camps and HIIT classes, but I LOATHE the traditional calisthenics (ahem burpees) that these classes are made of. And I find myself dragging, missing the amped-up energy of a studio environment. (Yep - I'm highly needy and particular. But that's my prerogative)

Hence, CrushCamp is born.

At CrushCamp, our goal is that EVERY SINGLE PERSON leaves EVERY SINGLE CLASS feeling like they Crushed it! That top-of-the-world feeling of setting out to do something hard, and accomplishing it. Of absolute SUCCESS - regardless of whether you are brand new to working out or training for an ultra marathon. Every single person, regardless of age, gender, or athletic ability will feel welcomed, included, and supported as part of the team - our wolfpack.

Not your thing? That's okay. As I said above, there are a myriad of options available, and you have to find what works for you. This works for me - and I bet the family farm that I am not alone.

As a lone wolf, we are strong. As a pack, we are unstoppable.
